Hi there! I am a wife and mother of two older teenagers. My story is one of God’s amazing grace and abundant mercy. I was raised a cradle Catholic, but only went through the motions without any real understanding of the faith or personal relationship with Jesus. In my younger years, I strayed very far from what was right and spiraled into an abundance of bad choices and dangerous situations. By God’s grace, He led me to a place of surrender and has blessed me with a beautiful life I do not deserve. God’s great mercy and the Sacred Heart of Jesus continue to increase my faith and change my life in amazing ways. My journey is a testimony to God’s overwhelming love and desire to bring us all back to Him. No one is too lost to be reconciled with God. He truly waits for you and desires our hearts to be united.
One of the the tools that exposed me to many truths of Catholicism and helped me tremendously to grow in faith has been homeschooling. I came across a quote in the very first months of our homeschool days that said, “What if God called you to homeschool because of what He wanted to do in your life?” I remember thinking that was cute. I had no idea that would indeed be my story!
We have officially homeschooled for ten years in addition to some pre-school age learning. My children did attend a charter school initially for one and three years respectively before God placed the call to homeschool on my heart. I am passionate about homeschooling not only because God changed me, but the people my children are becoming is amazing. It is all God’s work through His grace and a wonderful truth filled education He placed in our path. What a blessing to walk with my children as they developed a love for learning in their own ways and have been able to learn and live the faith. One child is going to a wonderful college in the fall and the other is very close to the college years as well. I am grateful for the gift of homeschooling and want to encourage others to give it a try and persevere through the hard seasons. The blessings are abundant!
